Hey ladies! I've been making my own conditioners and stylers for a while, but I haven't yet tried to make a cleanser. I've been using KC Come Clean lately and it's fine, but I'd love to make something myself that's perhaps more moisturizing. I couldn't find any cleanser recipes on this board (I only went back five pages or so, I admit) - anyone have a favorite recipe?

ETA I'm trying to figure out how to edit my signature, I haven't logged on in ages and back then I was using a homemade no-poo that didn't really do the trick for me, hence my inquiry

Hello,

I found this recipe online and tried it. I have highly porous 4b hair so I need protein. This worked out great for me and left my hair feeling very healthy and moisturized.

Ingredients

1 egg
1tsp of olive oil
1tsp of lemon juice ( I used fresh lemon )
1 tbsp of Castile soap
1/2c of distilled water
5 drop your choice of a essential oil

Directions

1. Put all ingredients into a blender and blend well
2. Add a few drops of essential oils.
3. Apply to dry hair
4. Leave in for 30 min
5. rinse well with cold water

You can follow up with your favorite conditioner, moisturizer then seal. Castile soap is pure without harsh chemicals. The trick to using castile soap is to dilute it and use a oil in the recipe. Great natural shampoo for highly porous hair.
