Talking Natural deodorant doesnt irritate

Hello ladies. I have been on search of a natural deodorant and I found recipes on here.

I really really liked the baking soda, corn starch, and coconut oil mixture but it irritated my armpits BAD. As I stated in the one threads that it turned my armpits BLACK.

I stopped using that deodorant and tried Toms of Maine and didnt like it. I then tried Crystal roll on and didnt like it. I started doing a detailed search and found a recipe that called for shea butter, cocoa butter, vitamin E, corn starch, and baking soda. I had no idea where to get shea butter or cocoa butter so I did another search on if you could use Palmers Cocoa butter formula because it has vitamin and shea in it. BAM!!!

Here is it... How To: Make Your own Deodorant Wildly Urban

I cut the recipe in Half and switched the baking soda and corn starch ratio because baking soda irritates me... so here is the recipe

1.75 oz Palmers Cocoa Butter formula (I used the pump bottler)
5 TBS Corn Starch
3.5 TBS Baking Soda

Over a double broiler melt the palmers slowly and add the cornstarch and baking soda until creamy. I then Put it into a deodorant container. This half recipe filled one whole deodorant container and about 2/3 of another. I put them in the fridge to cool.

Ive been using this recipe for a little over a week now and Im LOVING IT. It was exactly what I was looking for. Hopefully it will be helpful for others with sensitive armpits! Keeps me fresh, dry, and the cocoa butter adds a slight fragrance.

Yeah, I am also using natural products for makeup and creams. Actually natural products not have chemical or toxin which affect our skin. It is good for skin.

I've been trying every recipe known to man it seems. No matter how small the amount of baking soda in a recipe, it still gives me a rash. I've tried without, different mixtures, to just plain coconut oil w/ essential oils and nothing works I really don't want to go back to store bought.

I like the kiss my face deodorant I bought recently. My skin is extremely sensitive and itchy and it doesn't irritate me.

Is the Palmer's cocoa butter natural? I can't do the baking soda at all, it turned my underarms black also and I used it on another area and I got a rash. I just started using Welleda spray deodorant. So far it's working well.

The baking soda can be quite abrasive. I use shea butter, coconut oil, arrowroot and a little baking soda w/some tea tree oil. This works great for me. When I was vegetarian I barely needed anything hardcore just cause your body odor smells like nothing (fruits+veggies lmao).I could get away with a generous amount of coconut oil. Now I had to step it up though haha.

I figured out just plain neem oil works great! It's antibacterial and I don't smell! No baking soda, woo! However, the oil smells pretty bad and is very thick so I only use a tiny dab, enough to get my finger wet.

I'd love to make my own as I'm loving my deodorants that I ordered from etsy, natural organic. I need to experiment with a recipe. I'm loving these way better than store bought and I've survived a winter and summer using them . my favorite is made of coconut oil, arrowroot, cornstarch and EO's, sounds simple enough.

What are the best EO's to use in a homemade deodorant?

tea tree, clary sage, lemongrass, lemon, and lavender are good ones. any others are pretty much purely in there for the scent. these are all good anti bacterial or deodorizers.

I use lemon juice. It doesn't irritate me but if you have sensitive arms you should use lime juice instead. The omly thing is that you should put it on maybe 30-60 minutes before walking outside cause of the sun. And you dont have to apply it everyday (i apply two-three times a week)
