Has anyone had success with homemade curly pudding/buttercreme?

I found these two recipes for curly buttercreme and curly pudding. I tried the first one and applied it to my hair after I squeezed out the excess water and it left little white clumps in my hair. Maybe I put to much on. I wasn't pleased. Has anyone had success with either of these recipes or another one?
BTW how do you apply curly pudding or curly buttercreme?

Mix 6oz of the Fantasia gel with 1 tablespoon of melted shea butter(microwave) and 3 sprays of oil in a container. Close the container and shake, shake, shake! Open the container and enjoy!

I have not tried this one yet.
"I got this idea from Doc's Curly Buttercreme thread. Here's a recipe for curly pudding:

Curl Activator Gel
3oz of oil any oil you want. I like olive oil.
4oz fruit of the earth vitamin e oil gel
few drops of any essential oil

whip for about 5 minutes and you have your own version of curly pudding!"

I haven't tried any of those, but Curls by Sisters Smith makes Wet Set hair Pudding that is under $6 and is similar in consistency to MJCP.

I got this recipe from this site before the site upgrade but I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Curly Pudding

3 STICKS COCOA BUTTER

1/2 OF JAR OF BEESWAX 2oz

1 32 oz TUB CURL ACTIVATOR

Begin by taking the cocoa butter sticks and placing them in a bowl. Scoop out 1/2 jar of bees wax and place it in the same bowl. Microwave bees wax and cocoa butter until they are liquid. Use an other larger bowl to put the curl activator it. Leave some curl activator inside of the jar for later. Take liquid wax and cocoa butter and pour it into the bowl with the curl activator. Mix vigorously with a spoon. what you will first get while mixing these the two may look like cellulite but be persistant and keep mixing until the mixture looks exactly like vanilla pudding then mix in remander of activator gel in the jar.

If you do not microvave the bees wax well enough it will clump up when you add it to the cold gel activator it may bead up and not allow you to get the perfectly smooth consistancy that you want. If this happens put the whole solution in the microwave for 4 minutes then beging to mix again. after about 2 minutes of mixing add back in the curl activator you left out from before and it should begin to look like pudding.

Apply to wet hair and style using shingling process discribed @ curvesalon.com. or how ever you wish.

This recipe on one average head of hair will last for about 2 months, and costs under 10 dollars, with some bees wax left over to haddle those pesky edge naps. I hope this has been helpful and I hope it works for you.l.

Maybe the problem with the first recipe is the type of gel used. Doesn't Fantasia cause white residue/build-up when it is used with certain other products? I thought I read that somewhere. Anyway, here is another recipe. I have not tried it yet, though.

Homemade Curly Pudding 1
1 jar of Smooth and Shine Curl Activator Gel
1/4 cup of melted shea butter
1/4 cup of melted cocoa butter
1/8 cup of castor oil

Combine 1 jar of Smooth and Shine CAG , 1/4 cup of melted shea butter, 1/4 cup of melted cocoa butter, and 1/8 cup of castor oil. Mix this all up. It will create a THICK heavy cream product. Up the amounts of shea and coco butter when you want to make it better.

I just had really surprising results with this!! Remarkable definition and softness with zero crunch, in fact the results were even better than those i've gotten with kinky curly. I used a modified recipe from the three previously posted.

-20oz jar of fantasia ic gel with olive extract(green)
-3 sticks cocoa butter(cocoa care)
-2 tablespoons shea butter
-4 oz. cocasta shikakai oil(pretty much castor oil on steroids. really moisturizing with sweet almond oil, vatika oil, henna extract hairveda.net)
-1/2oz extra virgin olive oil
-1oz ramtirth brahmi oil
-4oz aloe vera gel(lily of the desert)
-glob of honey
-2 drops peppermint eo
-2 drops rosemary eo

I put the butters and honey into a bowl and melted them in the microwave, around 4 minutes. I had scooped the gel into a seperate bowl. I poured the melted butters into the bowl with the gel and stirred with a spoon until it looked pretty mixed(no gel globs) I then added the oils and essential oil drops and continued to mix, although i used a whisker(lol i have no idea what its called, but you can beat eggs with it)

It wound up a really nice, creamy and lotiony consistency. I applied to soaking hair in the shower(no too heavy handed) and shook a little. The definition really was outrageous, i was stunned. And best of all, no residue!! Who knew i could create my own HG product? I can't wait to try this ob a twistout. I hope someone tries these recipes!!
