Default Hair Growth Help

My hair is very course! I have been trying to grow it all summer! I think I got some type of results but i want more it is about up to my shoulders I would like it atleast down to the top of my back any recommendations? I use the nourish pills found on this site, they say to give it about a month before you see any results I have used it for about 2 wks and don't see much but i guess i can wait. My hair is sooo thick it is hard to see.

The best way to encourage proper hair growth, albeit sans products, is to keep it healthy. Avoid anthing with cones or zanes, obviously, and deep condition often. Avoid excessive heat styling as well. And, get the ends trimmed every month to six weeks to keep breakage and length-ruining split ends at bay.

Are you looking for stimulating growth or strengthening hair to prevent hair loss? Btw, none of this can increase hair growth but help raise it's highest potential (if that makes sense) and is a gradual thing that takes patience (can't happen overnight).

Here's what I heard:
Biotin supplements
Megatek..?
Cod fish oil..?
Castor oil (hair growth + thicken thinning hair)
Castor oil + Emu oil..?
Cayenne pepper/paprika/cinnamon (or alone) - stimulates hair growth
Scalp massages (stimulates)
Olive oil (moisture + hair growth)
Coconut oil (strengthening)
Protein treatments (strengthening)
Moisture treatments
Balance of moisture + protein
Proper care
Less manipulation
Careful detangling
Or a combination of any

More:
Less or no heat styling
Protective styles
No 'poo or mod if you can
Less or no sulfates (drying)
No silicones (needs sulfates + builds up + covers up instead of fixing problems)
Wide tooth comb
Less or no brushing

love the lists Keihs! really do. ive been growing my hair out for a year now and im really happy about my growth. at the start id didnt know too much about it but now ive got a nice simple healthy routine and have noticed my hair shoot out!
i use alot of oils, ive made a growth booster with argan/evening primrose oil, rosemary peppermints and vit E oil. i message that in my scalp every night.
i DC once a week.
i follow my DC's with a herbal ACV rinse which my hair LOVES.
i take biotin and evening primrose oil (also great for women cramps!)
i dont use any heat
im careful with everything i do
i dont brush, i de tangle with my fingers
i dont use cones or sulfates.

it does take awhile but ive found that my hair n body has really settled in to all this and with healthier hair theres less i need to do to it.

Thanks. I'm glad that your routine works for you. Sadly, not with mine. That's why I researched all that, so I can change it. I 'Rinse. Repeat' my shampoo, stayed away from conditioner in fear of weighing my hair down, and overbrushed my hair in hopes of calming my not so straight, poofy hair, and wondered why my hair always ended up like Medusa's. That's why now, I'm try to take better care of my hair and even found that it is actually quite curly with enough moisture. Maybe that's why my hair never laid like my straight-haired friends but always ended up in a big, poofy mess, doing what they do. I guess what works for some people, won't always work for you.

@ Fmasuhr

I read that you're taking biotin and I was wondering how it's working out for you. Any changes? Positive? Negative? How much (1000mcg?5000?) Sorry for the twenty questions, but I just wanted to know, because I'm thinking of buying some but I don't really want to spend almost ten bucks (I know I'm cheap) on it if it's not even worth it. How did it affect your hair? Skin? I'm worried because I heard it causes breakout for others.. What brand? So yeah.. Thanks in advance

always glad to help! since ive been taking it for about 6 months now, its helped my nails shoot out and hair, i havent found any negative, skin break outs etc. i think my skins improved since ive been taking it. well im in germany, so i got mine at Aldi for 4 euro, ummm lost the packet so im not quiet sure how much, but the last lot i was taking 300mcg.
i think its worth a try. start at a small amount, give it a month for it to work and your skin to settle if you do break out. then increase it if you want to. i dont think it would be expensive just look around a bit i would say
