Amazing face wash routine!

No, I see it in a lot of hair products, but I don't know anything about what it's supposed to do for skin . . . .

I've read that it is very stable and has a long shelf life, and actually increases the stability of other ingredients when used together. It's also supposed to be very moisturizing. It's more expensive than other oils, but I bought it for use in making my own hair/skin products because of its purported stability. I rubbed some on my skin and it felt somewhere in between olive and jojoba oils, that is, fairly light. I'm not used to using oil on my face, so I was wondering if anyone could report on it.

ok THANK YOU Jess.. LoL
i know this thread is old now but not too many ppl have reviewed it past their first week..
so i finally bought all the ingredients, went ahead and got the powdered goats milk after researching it and seeing thats its in a TON of skincare products.. actually i looked up each component of this and every ingredient is said to be good for skin, it HAS to work.. so its been what? two weeks since i started? I didnt want to review to soon but after the first week i noticed a difference.. i mean no miracle results but the acne i was battling mainly on my cheeks cleared completely..and my overall skin is very soft & moisturized! Only thing theres scars on my cheeks from the acne so it dosent LOOK dramatically clear, but i know it is!
I love it, it was too good to be true until i got 3 huge killer alien bumps about a week ago & theyre fighting me.. i tried all my old tricks, mint julep mask.. even reverted back to my BP and they wouldnt go away.. so i thought "natural" & got some tea tree oil & theyre finally going down, hey now!

My regimen as some slight changes; my rosewater is in a bottle so i apply it like toner, i couldnt seem to get the honey step to not be sticky.. so now i just apply it heavily as a mask for about 30mins a day.. & i had some Jojoba Oil from my previous facial experiment [ the Acne.org Regimen, which btw sells a huge bottle of organic Jojoba for $15] so i use a drop of that while my face is still moist from the rosewater. & i spot treat these demons with Tea Tree Oil.. i have high hopes =)

P.S. its been 105 out here lately so i kept my honey in the fridge, not only did it make it easier to apply but the COLD honey on my face OMG it was heavenly.. just wanted to add that =)

Thanks for the recipe.
Do you leave the honey on your face or do you wash your face after applying ?

I should post back in. It's been about a week. I think the jury's out yet....I do not have acne but I've gotten 2 pimples this week since starting. Nothing too terrible but I'm cautious. I know I like the scrub and the rosewater seems o.k. It might either be the type of honey (I got organic and not raw) or the Vit E oil...Overall my face is less oily only marginally--no major improvements. That is what I was hoping.

I'm using some Proactiv Mask for the zits (works great as it has sulfur) as I'm wondering if my face is just going through adjustment.

I'll post more in a week or two. I also saw someone else used a tea tree and ACV toner...I might try that

The best part about this routine is licking your lips after putting they honey on.

all kidding aside - it's pretty great!

i don't use the goat's milk in my scrub - just oatmeal and flax - my food processor didn't have any effect on the flax seeds (they just got pushed around by the blade i guess) so i have to use my coffee grinder for those

and i don't use the rose water - i just get my hand wet and shake off the excess water and then rub my hands together to mix in the honey before applying, or don't dry my face after washing

i also use jojoba oil instead of olive oil - but really i think any light, refined plant oil will work for just about anybody - jojoba's supposed to be the most like our natural skin oils, but i don't notice a difference when i use almond or olive oil

i've never been happier with my skin! i have very dry, sensitive skin that tends to get flaky very easily and this really keeps it exfoliated and hydrated
Oh I forgot to say - I do the routine when I get home for the day, and take off all my makeup, etc. Then in the morning, I just give my face a good rinse in the shower and put on Eucerin for sensitive skin with SPF 30 mixed with a few drops of the jojoba oil. Sun causes wrinkles!
I would love to try this but I'm allergic to oatmeal and almonds (just in case anyone was to suggest almond meal). Is there any other grain out there that acts like oats?

I started using this routine and it's awesome. Thanks Jess! I don't have goats milk so I use fat free powdered milk instead. Also, use flax seed meal. My skin is so soft. I'm hoping all of my acne scars go away now. I've always had oily/acne skin. Am I right in reading that this is only once/day? What do I do in the morning then?
Thanks for the recipe! I am going to try the modified version by Domino, as I don't know where to find goat's milk powder.
I believe I last relaxed December 2009. I am on a path to nappturality!

Jess, you saved my life.I'm very sensitive.and after becoming allergic to a high end health food store brand of aging serum , my face wouldnt settle down, Im almost 60,and still get acne ,too,oily/combo. the only thing to stop the reactio?dermatitus, was GOW's recipe for oatmeal water, to wash with. Then I spied this recipe, allergic to honey(breakout) became allergic to flax seeds(still use on hair though, wahhh, have to stop eating for a while) so dropped that, and put organic oats, and the dry goatmilk in food processor, and put mix in little vitamin bottles, right outside shower, or where I wash, mix up and use for wash, rinse,(massage , but cant wait the 5 min.) then go over face gently with a buff puff, I'm back to smooth ,clear skin... and cheaper ,too, thanks to you.The best all natural effective, moisture/wrinkle cream Ive found is called aminocare. sold.only online . $50.00 lasts a couple months no allergies.

Wow what a great thread! I am excited to try this but wanted to see if anyone has made a few of the adjustments I was thinking about making?
-Any replacements to the Rosewater? I tried using Rosewater as a toner and it actually dried my face out. (as does ACV)
-I thought about using JoJoBa oil since I have some and know my face reacts well to it, but I wondered what if Vitamine E provides healing properties that is needed-could I be missing out on something there?
Thanks so so much for everyone's great input!
I'm sooooooo gonna try this!!!! I found this thread a few weeks ago and I've been trying to find it again for about a month cuz I couldn't remember the directions and I could only remember three ingredients. Super excited...

maybe if your able to use Vit E some how.... i add it in face masks or when i only oil wash i add a bit of it. though i just got more evening primrose oil, with added Vit E. its a bit heavier then the normal primrose oil, but i put it on at night so it had sunken in by the time i woke up.
