Can I make my own curl cream?

I'm not a magician, I can't mix my own concoctions, but could I take conditioner and just mix it in with my gel?

Yes you can, I used to do that but I didn't like much the result. I make my cream too. Someone posted the recipe a while ago. I don't follow the same measures because my hair needs more oil. I mix aloe vera gel with vegetable glycerin, coconut oil and a few drops of olive oil. It's the best cream ever (at least for me) the only thing that gives me consistent results.
I also saw a video on youtube of someone mixing her regular gel with jojoba oil (I think) in a bottle then shaking them together to get a cream and she said it works great for her hair.

Sorry in advance if this is a dumb question, but what's the curl cream for? Is it a LI? I'm new to CG and trying to learn as much as I can. TIA!
Coarse, thiiiick, porous, drrrry, 2c, dislikes proteins, likes ACV!
Suave or V05 for co-wash, Garnier Nutrise triple nutrition and sleek & shine, Matrix Biolage conditioning balm, FSG and LA Looks sports gel.

Just to add a little more. Depending on how Dry your hair is and the Season, you may be able to use a curl cream instead of a LI. Doing both could lead to getting over conditioned and frizzy.

I agree, I found ORS to be a good cream, but I still need a leave in.

I'm still searching for an all in one product that I can use and GO!

Any other recipe recs?

Thanks for the great info, kathy and del! I've always layered products before discovering nc.com, now I'm more informed and purposeful!

del, I've been tracking all the posts about Lustrasilk and tried the shea for the first time last night as DT with honey and now plopping with loads of homemade FSG. It's looking VERY promising. I added more Lustrasilk on my dry ends, so it's a curl cream? Hey, how about Lustrasilk as a curl cream?!!
