does it matter what you mix together?

i mixed up some honey, olive oil, an egg and a little bit of aloe vera gel.

also how long does it take for the honey to lighten hair? does it take repeated applications or if i use it one time?

I can only speak about the honey. I used it without really paying attention to color change. I ran into someone that I hadn't seen in about a month and they commented on my lighter hair. Then I looked at it more closely, and it had lightened alot. I used it every time I wet my hair - usually every other day.

depends the color of your hair
some folks say molasses is better for darker hair
and honey is better for lighter hair

I've used olive oil as a deep treatment works good

I use aloe vera gel as a leave in
