You shouldn't need more moisture after the oil cleanse. But can use anything you want.

Yeah, I don't think you will need anything.
I washed two nights then skipped the third night. It is 6pm and my face is not greasy. After only 2 nights!
I am adding this to my list of things I wish I had known so many years ago.

I tried this method this morning since I wasn't going anywhere.....I'm going to wait a couple days before doing it again. I could definitely see it cleared my skin some and opened up some pores. I really hope this works for me.

I've been doing OCM for a while now (several months consistently). I use castor oil with jojoba. My skin is dry so I'm doing like 15% castor to 85% jojoba. Leaves my skin so soft and touchable I knew I had to try it as soon as I read the description of it because I had the same reaction to the OCM as I did originally to CG (that reaction was: this sounds disgusting and it'll leave my hair/skin a greasy mess!). Thank goodness for an open mind!

Ive been doing this now for the past two wks and on my first time i did see results like my pores opening up which i used cold water to close them right after, my skin looked brighter and felt softer. It's definately a keeper.

I started my DD on the OCM last week. Her t-zone is very oily. Lots of blemishes, and so many, big blackheads, and redness. Being that she's 14, and is skeptical about EVERYTHING, I had to do some fancy footwork to get her to even try it. Right after the first treatment, she said her skin felt "okay." No comment the following morning, but the second morning, a different story! We both could see improvement. Redness reduced, acne clearing, and the blackheads shrinking! We couldn't believe it! After the second, treatment, even better. The best yet, friends are asking her what her new acne medicine is. She laughed as she told me how they reacted to the idea that it is oils. She told them, 'no, it's the good kind of oils.'

We're so happy with the OCM. Thanks to all who have shared their experiences with it, without you, I wouldn't have known about it.

That's great to hear! I have a 15 year old that I want to get started on this as well. Thanks for sharing.

curlykey. Based on our experience (I'm using it too) I say go for it! Just a tip, in case your DD can be resistant as mine can be, I did tell DD that the castor oil is found in the pharmacy aisle at the grocery store. I didn't tell her it's use for constipation!

It's great as long as I stick to it, I need to do it 3 times a week and my skin is clear and soft which a year ago I would've thought impossible. I was one of those people that scheduled my social life around my breakouts. I hated how I looked and had horrible self esteem. Now I get compliments on my glowing skin. I used to try all the different over the counter creams and they never worked. I like this, its natural and my skin loves it!

I dont, first I just wanted to see what difference the OCM did for my skin alone and then i found I didnt need anything else. I use it as a cleanser and moisturizer.

I use CO and olive oil and occasionally, my skin feels kind of dry/tight afterwards, so I just rub a couple drops of oil between my hands and pat it on. I threw a couple drops of lavender EO in there as well to scent it lightly. Next go round I'm using mint or something, just to see.

I use the same castor oil/olive oil mix with my mineral foundation (aromaleigh) and it works awesome-I've used that blend for several months, and it doesn't cause breakouts, smooths on nice and even, and doesn't leave my skin feeling dry. Makes it last longer as well. Never tried it with BE or anything-bareminerals made me break out something fierce.

I am really excited to try this method too. But where does everyone buy all of the oils? I got the castor oil *check* and I was going to try it with Sunflower seed oil.. I found that at the grocery store but didn't buy it because I thought sunflower oil might not be the same as sunflower seed oil. But now I'm thinking its the same..

Anyway, where do you all buy jojoba, grapeseed, camelia, tea tree, etc. oils?

Sunflower is the right oil. I've bought oil here http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/ several times.

I just started this method yesterday. I am using castor and jojoba oil.

I really have high hopes for this. My skin has been so congested for the past 6 months and I have no idea why. I have always been acne prone (all types of acne, even cysts) with very oily skin. I have tried almost everything. Long term BP usage has wreaked havoc on my skin (a fact I just realized last year) leading to premature fine lines. bhas/ahas don't seem to be doing the job anymore, either.

My first OCM wash went amazing. My pores felt open and my skin did have a glow about it. Unfortunately, no 'plugs' came out. But I suppose since they have been embedded there for years (and years) they will take a while to release. No tightness, no itching. I did the OCM at night and when I woke in the morning, I wasn't as oily usual.

I have washed with this method maybe 5 times now and it is just now starting to bring out tiny little things.
I have not been doing it every night though because sometimes I am so tired and just forget and I don't have enough time in the mornings. I do it about every other night.

I do have a question though...
I have oily skin but since starting this my skin isn't oily. Should I adjust my mixture with my next bottle or do I continue with my original mixture?
My guess would be to adjust since chances are my skin was only oily because of what I was using to wash my face but I want to make sure.

Also, thank you Kathymack for the link!

Try less castor oil next time, you can always add a little more.

I have been doing the OCM for 4 months now, it's the best thing I have ever used on my face, and like most I have tried it all.
I use 75% castor, 20% jojoba, 5% grapeseed, with a few drops of EO lavender and tea tree oil. I had to adjust the % to my skin. My skin is oily, with acne at times.
This leaves my skin soft, not tight, removes all pore clogging crap, and appears to shrinks my pores. The longer I do it the better my skin looks and feels. I get compliments on my skin now, which for my bad skin is not the norm.
This is also cheap compared to all the money I use to spend on my face. Which means I can buy more hair stuff.
Thanks to all the OCM curlies for their posts!!!!!!!!

Default Breakouts with OCM

Hi Ladies,

I've been doing OCM for about six weeks and loving it! I'm using about 60% castor with 40% EVOO and follow up with just a drop or two of jojoba. My skin is generally normal with T-zone oiliness.

My skin care is simple and I use bareEscentuals mineral makeup. This is my HG!

However, for the past two weeks or so I'm experiencing wicked breakouts around my chin and neck. I haven't had this problem since I was in my teens. Has anyone else had this problem? Does it go away or am I a total freak? I don't want to give up but I'm really discouraged.

Stress makes me break out around my chin and neck also, so could that be a factor for you?

Don't give up, but you might try using different oils. I know jojoba oil is supposed to be great, and most people rave about it, but for some reason my skin hates it! It took a bit of trial and error to figure out which combo works best for me. I personally use 50% castor, 40% grapeseed, and 10% camellia.

Hang in there and good luck!
