Default Homemade DTs?

I've been waiting a while to Deep Treat my hair, but I've want MAKE my own DT. While searching DTs in the search bar, I found this recipe:
Banana Deep Conditioner

1 mashed banana
1 tablespoon sunflower oil
1/2 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice

Mix ingredients together, apply to dry hair and leave on for 30 minutes.

Anyways, i can't find any sunflower oil in my house, but I have safflower oil. Will that work?
And can I put the treatment on wet hair? Will it be any different?

Thanks!

You just reminded me, I need to get a camera and take pictures for my coffee-dye treatment. I've been avoiding the thread because I don't want anyone to know I've been procrastinating
One day!

I'd really recommend putting the banana in a blender. If you just mash it you'll get chunks that are a PITA to try to rinse out. I do a simular DT called the Caramel Treatment. I think wet hair is best.

Haha... Yeah, I tried out the banana DT WITHOUT putting it in a blender... Hah... hah...
NEVER AGAIN.
Took me years to get out! '
But I think I'll try the blender thing! Thanks!

And what's the Caramel Treatment?

The caramel treatment calls for 2 ripe bannanas, several oils, honey/molasses, vinegar. Super moisturising. I always have some in the freezer. It was posted over at LHCF a couple years back. I'll try to find my recipe book and post it later.

But the blender is absolutly essential.

instead of bananas you can use the pureed baby food bananas - that does away with any banana bits!

Default Homemade DT

Yesterday I actually made my own Deep Conditioner..

I used..

One EGG
1/4 Cup Mayo
3 TBL Spoon Olive Oil
1 TBL Spoon JoJoBa Oil
3 TBL Spoon Coconut Oil
Shea Butter

I mixed it all together and separated my hair and applied for about an hour.. When i washed it my hair felt softer and stronger.. It was a good mix.

Awesome! Thanks so much!
Maybe I'll try the caramel treatment... How often should I DT, BTW?
Roxymiami: Did you mix ingredients together by hand? With a spoon? With a blender?
Thank you again!!
