Default Cake decorating question

I have seen birthday cakes with what look like edible "photographs" on them. They aren't made by hand with icing, but rather they look almost silk-screened. Does anyone know what these are and if there is a way to get custom ones made? In other words, I take a photo or piece of artwork to someone and they create a cake with the photo/art on top.

there's special paper and ink you can buy for an inkjet printer that will do this for you.

is there a cake decorating school in your area? they might be able to help too!

I saw a tv commercial for Dairy Queen that said they do photo cakes. If you have a Dairy Queen near you, and you want an ice cream cake, try them!

yum!

I think a regular supermarket bakery will do it. You just bring in the picture.
Those cakes look really neat, but I haven't had the chance to eat one.

sells edible papers and inks!

might be a bit pricey for one cake, however!

Sorry this is late. I don't check this section often...

Go to this link. You can send her any picture, and it's really inexpensive.
