When it come to comfort foods, I turn to Grandma. And I mean as a mentor, not an ingredient.

But since it's cold and rainy and gray where I am, I've been making a lot of the yummy warm things from my childhood. I don't know what the weather is like where you are, but hopefully my German grandma's old recipe will help you fight it when you get tired of chicken noodle soup.

I posted it on my cooking blog, so I'm just gonna post the link to the recipe, but if you do end up trying it out, let me know what you think! It's a little bit of an odd recipe by American standards (I think? America has pioneered the deep fried Oreo, so I never know what counts as unusual anymore), so I am curious as to what people outside of my family think.

We just call it "pfannenkuchensuppe".. but yes I love this too. I haven't had it in years but maybe I'll make some this weekend. It's not only a comfort food, but a quick easy meal for lean times. It's cheap to make and fills you up.

P.S. it's also really good when the pancakes are a day or so old.

Shoot, I thought that was gonna be about artichokes which I have been craving badly.
But those look like a great comfort food.
My comfort food this weekend (very cold with high temps around 10F) will be chili.

For me, it has to be Bubur Ayam. It's rice porridge with chicken and it reminds me of my younger years. It's the feeling of coming home in a bowl.
