Coffee

That's weird.. whenever I add cinnamon to my coffee it winds up at the bottom of the cup in a slimy gooey mass despite vigorous stirring. I wouldn't mind if it floated on top.

And hey, please jump in and bring your friends..lol

I stir it into the froth (not cream) of a very hot mocha, and then drink it pretty quickly, so it may not have time to settle.

However, at home when I've tried these additions, it just doesn't work: I wander around with my cup for too long and the spices make the lukewarm drink weird.
Bekka..I read that bit about your slimy cinnamon...I was confused. hah.

Sadly...my coffee has no froth. booo.
I keep meaning to try putting the spice in the cup before I pour the coffee to see if that helps, but I always forget. Maybe tomorrow.

The first aha is interesting; the second, insane.

I don't mean that you are, of course; I mean the writer of the blog.
Lol.. that's exactly the type of cinnamon snot balls I get in my coffee.

I slurp it down anyways..cinnamon is good for you.

Oh, I believe it, but look how easily you found a rational explanation, whereas he started conducting experiments and spouting (quoting, actually) conspiracy theories.
So I didn't read the "aha's" until after I was in the kitchen poking at my coffee cup this am.

I tried adding only the cinnamon and not the nutmeg thinking maybe I was confusing the two in the cup...
Still no slime. Still floating at the top edges of the cup.

Then I read that maybe it turns out I just have some hoity toity cinnamon and didn't know it.

I tried something different this weekend. I put a few cinnamon sticks in the water that I boil for coffee instead of adding the powdered (resulting slimy) cinnamon in my cup. It works pretty well.. so I'm brewing with hot cinnamon tea/water instead of plain water. I liiiiked it.

I may have to get off the coffee soon though.. it's not working anymore. I drink it and right afterwards I'm tired. I must have a high tolerance for caffeine at this point, so I need to cut it out.

I will be like this

Well I'm stepping down slowly.. I still need some caffeine. I had black tea in the AM, and only two cups of java (compared to my usual 4 or 5) today!

I'm actually more wakeful for some reason.. very strange. But hey, I'll take it.

I'll try to drink two teas and one coffee tomorrow.

Will I still be allowed in this thread if I stop drinking coffee?

Tried a cinnamon stick in my coffee today; added it to the ground beans during the five minute steeping time (French Press method).

The result: deeeeeeeelightful!

Thanks, Bekkapoo!

I'm presently quite satisfied, and rather far into cup #2 within the past hour.

The caffeine sweating has begun.
