Coffee

I big puffy heart coffee. And I have a favorite cup that if it ever breaks I'll wear black for 3 months as a mourning period. I keep looking for a replacement so I'll have a back-up for if/when this one breaks and I can't find one. The handle is perfect, the size is perfect and it fits just right on my coffee warmer. It's got little strands of colored Christmas lights around the outside and on the inside at the bottom it says "You make me twinkle".

I'm not picky about my coffee. I brew it in a 14 cup Cuisinart coffee pot that I adore and I add in flavored creamer, no sugar. Sometimes I'll stir in a little fresh grated nutmeg or some cinnamon.

Brilliant idea about the cinnamon sticks!

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
Spring, I hear you about the favorite coffee cup.. I have a tin enameled coffee "bucket" that I got from Old Navy years ago with the word "love" printed across it. A hole is beginning to develop in the bottom of it.. ::sads:: But when it does finally wear through I'll turn it into a planter.

does anyone have a good recipe for iced coffee?

I just cant seem to figure it out! Thanks ladies!
curlykristx, from what I read cold brewing is supposed to make a better iced coffee (less bitter).

If you google you can find lots of methods and probably ideas for iced coffee concoctions.

Thanks spring1, but when I google it or look it up on a website there are a million results and its overwhelming lol. Just looking for something easy. So any suggestions or ideas are welcomed!
Here's a pretty straight forward recipe Smitten Kitchen.

Most seem to make huge amounts that might be overwhelming to make the first time, like this one, but it does offer step by step instructions.

I think what you add depends on what you'd usually order. You can do flavored creamer, milk, half and half and you can usually find a ton of coffee syrups at the grocery store or if you have a World Market near you they have a great selection (even bacon flavored, ew! haha). If Starbucks is your usual iced coffee provider of choice I believe they even sell the syrups they use. I suppose you can mix sugar in too, although I'm not sure how that will dissolve so maybe a simple syrup would work better? That's just equal parts sugar and water heated in a pan so the sugar dissolves then cool and keep in the fridge.

I've yet to try the cold brew, but I really should so I can stop wasting my money at McDonald's (the caramel there is my favorite) and unfortunately I've also read the ingredient list for what goes into them...ugh. I still indulge though, darn addictions!

Good luck and if you try it let me know how it goes!
