Default Where can I get coconut water?

A friend form the caribean told me about a yummy sounding caribean cocktail. I need coconut water. everywhere i go, i only find milk. where can i get water? do i have to special order or something?

I've seen the Zico brand at Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and Target.

It tastes hideous when warm. It needs to be chilled.

I have never had coconut water, but my friend says its delicious and since she has been in america havent been able to find any good kind.

I'll tried the zico brand.

the recipe is:

coconut water
sweeten condensed milk
gin

Depends on if you're looking for a specific brand. But you can find it anywhere. I think most grocery stores even carry it in health food sections. Or in 'ethnic' food aisles.

You can find it pretty much anywhere. I think canned/boxed/bottled coconut water is all pretty gross though.
You can always buy a coconut and use the water. Of course, coconut freshness leaves much to be desired as well.

Yeah, the ethnic aisle or the Caribbean grocery.

Agree that nothing off the islands is going to match the cool, fresh coconut water from a green coconut that you can get there, but I find the substitutes here acceptable for making drinks and things.

I've seen coconut water @ krogers and walmart also any international food store carries coconut water

thanks you guys!! i'll see what i can find. I 'll try trader joes. The walmarts around here only seem to have coconut milk. No krogers up here either.

I've seen liter boxes of it at albertson's, as well as 7-11s in Vegas. I love the boxes, personally.
