Default Anyone else gluten free?!

I've been GF for over a year since being diagnosed with a wheat allergy. I avoid all gluten because it upsets my stomach and causes a histamine reaction. I'm a broke college kid that lives in an apartment so grocery shopping is a daunting task.
Any easy and inexpensive tips or recipes?
How long have you been GF?

What are the benefits/drawbacks of being gluten free?

Well I wish it was by choice, but I have a legit allergy to wheat so I can't even " cheat"
I guess it is easier to make healthy food choices. I eat more protein and veggies and I have lost 16 pounds from it.
There are several drawbacks though. It's expensive starting out. It's a lifestyle change, not just a diet change. Plus it's difficult to eat fast food when you are on the go. It's not a convenient diet, but my body is so much healthier eating this way.
