Toffee Crunch Chocolate Bars
Four layers of delight in every bite. A buttery base, creamy caramel, chocolate and crunchy Skor® Toffee Bits
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 40 minutes
Makes: about 4 dozen cookies
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 375 mL
3/4 cup packed brown sugar 175 mL
3/4 cup butter 175 mL
1 can sweetened condensed milk 300 mL
2 tbsp butter 30 mL
1 1/2 cups Chipits® Semi-Sweet or Milk Chocolate Chips 375 mL
1 pkg Chipits® Skor® Toffee Bits 200 g
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 13” x 9" (33 x 23 cm) cake pan.
2. Base: Combine flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Press evenly in prepared pan. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until light golden.
3. Topping: Heat sweetened condensed milk and butter in heavy saucepan over medium-low heat stirring constantly, for 5-10 minutes, or until thickened. Spread over baked base. Bake 12-15 minutes longer, or until golden.
4. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly on top. Return to oven and bake 2-3 minutes longer, or until chocolate is soft and shiny. Remove from oven. Spread chocolate evenly. Sprinkle Skor® Toffee Bits on top, pressing lightly into chocolate. Cool completely. If neessary chill to set chocolate before cutting into bars.
