1/2 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons cornstarch
3 oz of bittersweet cooking chocolate
a pinch of salt
and stir it up real good (well, okay chocolate doesn't stir, but the rest)
In a sepparate bowl, whisk:
1 1/3 cups milk
1 egg yolk
Slowly stir this into the pot.
Put the pot on the stove on Medium. Mine has a scale of 0-10 and I put it at 5. Slowly whisk it untill it boils. This takes a little while in my heavy pot, so I grab a magazine. Once it starts boiling it will quickly thicken up, so take the pot off the heat at the first second the pudding looks thick enough to you. Off of the heat, stir in:
1 Tablespoon of butter. Let it cool a bit, because it is super hot.
WARNING: If you split this whole thing with your husband, you will both end up with severe chocolate overdose. Keep the servings small, and top with whipped cream and its good.
Also, this tastes exactly like whatever chocolate you use, so buy the good stuff. I also like to throw in a little of whatever eating chocolate I have laying around...
