Default Low Calorie Lunch Ideas

hi guys,

I'm currently trying to stick to 1500 calories a day, and desperately need some yummy, filling (and cheap) ideas that I can take/buy for lunch at work.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Lex

I like fat free refried beans with some salsa, a few sliced jalapenos and fat free sour cream. I dip into it with baked Tostitos.

You can bulk up your salads with beans, and/or leftover cold rice.

For sandwiches, you can use low calorie bread if you like. You can also switch to mustard to cut down on more calories. Bulk up the sandwiches with lettuce, tomato slices, cucumber slices instead of extra meat or cheese.

Fruit salads. Yum!

Leftover stir fries from the night before.

Broth based soups.

fresh fruits (with PB for spreading or with an ounce of cheese)
veggies (with light ranch dressing for dipping)

Homemade bean soup and a piece of fruit.

2 c. salad w/ 1/4 c. beans and maybe 1/2 can of tuna or a hard boiled egg, maybe some leftover veggies & low cal dressing.

1/2 sandwich and a small portion of healthy soup

I'd stay away from anything with too many carbs for lunch, especially if you're aiming to even out blood sugar. I know for me, it just makes me hungrier later!

btw, check out http://www.fitday.com it's great for tracking your daily intake of calories!

Also, I really like http://www.cookinglight.com
Their albondigas soup is yummy!

I'm sticking to 1500-1600 cal/day right now. It's hard at first, but really rewarding (not just losing weight, but also feeling healthier!).
