HAIR STYLISTS in the Northern VA/DC/Southern MD area

Hi Everyone! I have been transitioning since June 2010. My hair is in a short bob (rhianna) with the back completely natural. Mid crown and the top of my hair is still transitioning. I wear protective hairstyles at the moment.

I am looking for a GREAT hairstylist in the Northern VA, DC, or Southern MD area that is excellent when it comes to caring for natural hair (whether I wear it in its natural state or straightened).

SN: I have 3c, 4a hair.

If anyone knows of any great hairstylists, please feel free to drop a note on here.

Thanks!

I wanted to find someone in NOVA too, but the wait was too long. I think Amanda will be out of town for a week or two in June, so you may want to book now. She had a cancellation so I went next day!

Vonetta Dumas at Salon Revive. It's off U Street on 9th. I've been going to her for two years. She's the only person I trust with my hair other than myself. She does natural styles as well as straightening etc.

You can go to Urban Nature, it's in Silver Spring, MD. I'll PM you the link.

They do my mom's hair. She gets the stylist named Nikki. She has this huge 4b/4a afro.

I went to Amanda at Cavallaro & Co on Friday and was definitely happy with my experience.

She really knows her stuff and did a great job listening to me and explaining exactly what she was going to do before she did it.
