Stylist in buffalo, NY?!

I'm having a bit of an issue! I'm a stylist myself and I just can not find a stylist that can cut my 3c/4a hair accurately. I'm always left with longer curls or it's usually just that they are afraid to cut it! If anyone knows o any stylist in the WNY area PlEASE inform me, I'm in desperate need!! Lol

Sorry for the delay, I never realized you posted! Yes I am in Buffalo. Did you end up finding a good salon??

One of my sisters has had the same problem with the stylists in her area - she has walked out not seeing any difference and feeling like she wasted her money :sad10:

If you haven't given up on finding another stylist/salon for a future cut, may I recommend that next time you could start by setting up a phone consultation for each stylist that interests you (If you didn't last time)? I'd ask stuff like:

What is the curliest hair type you're used to cutting?

How comfortable are you working with super-curly [African/whatever description you choose] hair? [Carefully describe your hair. Can compare it to celebrities maybe.]

The type of cut I'm looking for is _____ . What technique would you use?

... I would be sure and state your concern about too conservative of a cut too.

One of the stylists I go to in my area was surprisingly enthusiastic when we first talked. She gushed about how much she loved curly hair, describing how all curls have their own unique "behavior" and how she loves the challenge of working with every curl type. The lady has passion. On the other hand, if I hear a lack of energy in a stylist's voice when I bring up curly hair, or if s/he sounds hesitant or nervous, I don't step into her/his salon.

I'm in buffalo too. Have not found a stylist either. My hair is only 2c but I haven't been able to get the cut I want :angry7:
