Any generic brand liquid personal lube. CVS, Target, WalMart...
I think what is missing from the lubes is PVP, and that is the ingredient, I believe, that gives styling products hold.
That may be why it is best to layer it under your gel...?
The lube is definitely best under gel an works well as a Curl Keeper substitute. There was a lot of discussion a few months ago on the FB WHC group. Consensus seemed to be that jellies worked well, but the liquids did not. I've only tried using KY a few times and I want to wait until dews go up a bit before I experiment anymore because it does seem to give me some signs of glycerin overload/sensitivity, where I've never had issues with Curl Keeper in any dews. I might also need to be more conservative in my application since I tend to be very heavy handed in general because my hair is so thick. But I definitely thought it had potential.

Very interesting I have not tried the jelly, only the liquid & I love it! The only reason I have not tried the real Curl Keeper is because I read that it is perfume smelling & I'm sensitive to fragrance. I love that I can get the lube anywhere & there is no scent!

Please tell me the difference that jelly makes!!!

2c/3a, fine, low porosity.

Poo: Garnier Fructis Pure Clean (yes, it has a mild sulfate, but I have Teflon hair)
Co-wash: VO5 Kiwi Lime Clarifying Conditioner
LI: GVPCB or
Keratin Complex Vanilla Bean Deep Conditioner (nothing to do with keratin straightening, just a nice conditioner)
Style: KCCC + Pantene Curl Shaping Gel (winter) or LALSG (summer)
Dry: Diffuse or air dry, depends on my mood

I've tried the jelly and it didn't work nearly as well as the liquid. It was much harder to distribute and just didn't do much for my hair.

Typing on a giant phone - there will be funky grammar and typos.

Co-wash: Suave Naturals Coconut
RO: GVP CB
