Default Another great haircut from A. Dickey at Hair Rules

I give A. Dickey at Hair Rules my highest recommendation. This is the 2nd time I went to him. Several things distinguish him from other stylists whom I have tried: his haircut grows in beautifully, I can style it myself, and he doesn't cut off more than you want.

The salon is fine, and the staff are all very friendly and professional. I saw women with every conceivable type of curl getting great cuts. This is a totally curl friendly salon for curls from A - Z.

Bonus: I was in Saks afterward (guilty shopping spree for upcoming wedding) and a customer came up to me and asked where I had my haircut. She said I was beautiful!!! No one has said that to me in years. I'm still in shock over that one.

It sounds like a fantastic haircut Curlypearl! I am so happy for you! Does it hold up in humid weather? Are his haircuts expensive? What makes his haircut better than others? I am tempted to try him!

Curlswirl, hi there . I actually don't know how it will behave in humid weather (great question!) because I have escaped that so far. This summer will be the big test. I think I'll get another trim right before it turns deadly in NYC as insurance, and then we'll see....

RBB, I'm such a klutz. Thanks for asking for pics - people have asked before and I actually don't know how to do that. I have a "stupid" dumb phone (notice I am blaming the machinery and not my own technically challenged self) and have no clue how to take the picture and upload it. I am so lame in this regard.

It's a simple bob style but it just layers perfectly. What I really liked about this trip was that Dickey said right away that he liked the length (I was so scared he was going to chop off inches) and that what he thought it needed was just to shape the bulk off the sides because it was hanging and making my long face look longer. He was so right!

Thanks for chiming in. Happy New Year - JOY to all and great hair days.
