Default New East Bay (SF Bay Area) curly salon

Twist Salon in Alameda. How did I miss this???? I'd been looking for a curly salon for years until Curlilocks hooked me up in September with Shiva at iSalon in Newark...which is a bit of a drive for me. It's been open since March 2012.

Twist's owner is a Deva-trained stylist, which I know isn't always good, but she was praised in the Wall Street Journal for her curly styling skills.

I already trust Shiva and have another appointment with her this week for highlights. I hope someone else checks this place out and reports back.

510.769.9909; 1906 Encinal Avenue. It received rave reviews in a local newspaper article today.

For you East Bay curlies even further east, Walnut Creek Salon, Curlz, was given a rave review.

For when I visit CA, what's the name of that newspaper?

It's just the online Alameda Patch, but the WSJ article I linked above is a pretty credible article as well. Also, Twist has a Web site.
