Default Curly salon in Orlando, FL

I've never been to a curly hair stylist and I really want to embrace my curls. I'm 17 and have been transitioning for about 2 months but my ends are terribly spilt. I usually cut it once a year which isn't good at all. I was deciding between dolce bite salon or alchemy salon. Both are far but I'm willing to drive for a good cut. I want to find someone that can point me in the right direction and suggest products without only pushing their products on me. Please help!!

Please do! I'm from the Orlando area and go to a guy who is semi-retired and will probably be looking for a replacement soon.

It was awesome, y'all! Studio 11 is housed in the I-Salon building on Edgewater Dr. In College Park. Kristen Colon is the stylist/owner. She started out by explaining the process and how she would be cutting. We discussed length and preferences. She cut my dry hair with scissors and shortened my lifeless hair a fair amount, as we had talked about. No surprises! When I looked down, I was a little surprised to see such little hair on the floor, given the difference in how it looked in the mirror! It did look like most of my curls were on the floor, but I knew enough about the process from research to not panic. She then washed and conditioned my hair with Deva products and applied the gel; all the while doling out tips on how to use the products and get the best result for my particular hair. There was nothing general or generic about it, she was very specific, which was great! After blotting my hair with paper towels, I sat under a dryer for a little while and then she finished with a diffuser. The curls were back! Kristen really took into account my face shape and existing layers to give me the best possible curly hairstyle and I love it!! All for $60. She has online booking, and I was able to book an appointment fairly soon, which is good.
All in all, I was very very pleased with this experience.

Will try to post some pics, but if this doesn't work, she took a before/after so check Facebook under Studio 11.

Wow, Kelly! Your after hair looks fantastic. My curl pattern looks similar to yours so she might be a great option. Please keep me posted as you try to replicate what she has done.

Washed my hair today, then did exactly as Kristen told me to do...same result! It is a bit curlier, but that's fine. So, the true sign of a good cut...being able to replicate it at home. Success!

That's great! Thanks for reporting back - it's one thing to be happy when they style your hair but if you can't repeat it then it doesn't matter. I'm going to give her name to my friend who is looking for a new stylist for curly hair. I hope to get a deva cut eventually.
