Default Salons on NYC?

I need help looking for a GOOD curly hair stylist in the NYC area.
I would try the devachan salon but the amount of money they want there is a a bit much for me.
Does anyone know of a good salon from personal experience that is good with curly hair cuts?
Thanks so much in advance!

Unfortunately, all the salons in the NYC area that are good cost an arm and a leg. That's probably why you haven't gotten other responses yet.

Check out the salons section on top for reviews on salons in NYC. I personally like A. Dickey owner of Hair Rules salon, but it isn't cheap. I get a senior citizen discount so I can afford it.

Best of luck with your search!

Stylers: Experimenting with cones & sulfates while the dews are high. Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.

Default salons

I now go to beehive salon in Brooklyn. Louie is deva trained but he doesn't agree totally with everything. He does what you want and is a nice guy. I've been to devachan many times. Beehive charges $75. He is worth a try. The salon is the first stop on the L train in brooklyn, not far from lower manhattan.

I've actually gotten a really good cut from Hair Metal Salon (Williamsburg) from one of the girls whose hair was more wavy-curly. It's not a curly-specific salon though.

It may be worthwhile to look around for reviews on yelp.... I think you can find some good hairstylists in the smaller salons in outer boroughs, once you narrow it down call ahead and ask if they have stylists who have naturally wavy/curly hair or have curly clients.
