Attention Michigan Curlies!!!!

Models needed!

If you would be willing to come to a West Bloomfield salon and be a model for a stylist who has been to a Devaconcept Curlaboration and has had special tutoring by a brilliant Florida-based stylist for a special first-time-client rate please respond to this thread.

Dates and prices would be announced at a later time...this initial post is to gather information on willing participants.

Thanks so much!

If you ever decide to move to mid-Michigan...Let me know! I'm dying for someone who can cut curly hair to fix me! LOL But I'm too chicken to drive that far alone, and I know DH wouldn't take me that far for a haircut...he just doesn't understand!
argh---when will men learn that we're happier when our hair is happy?
Sorry I'm so far from you! Good luck!

I might be interested and I also have a couple of friends
that would be interested also. We are all natural curlies. We all live in Michigan.

I can tell all Michigan curlys that it is worth it to go to Marni. I had my hair cut by her about 2 months ago and it is still laying well. She listened to what I wanted, taught me a few things, took her time, and most of all did not take too much off. I can't wait to go back.
Wish I would have seen this post earlier! Marni, I just found out about you and I am definitley coming to you on my next cut! I'm so excited to have a Deva stylist here in Michigan! And I've seen pictures of cuts by Struttswife and I was seriously considering driving to FL to get my hair cut by her so this is even better!!! I'll see you in a month or so

-All OVER the board 2-3a-(depends on the day). 2nd day hair is impossible!
-JUST discovering importance of porosity! Fill and seal! I'm low!
-DC1C, JCGLS, Natural Glycerine for clarifying
-Deva Cuts better for me when shorter (shoulder). Ouidad cuts are EVIL for me.
-When long: BSRHG, Deva BLeaveIn, JCRR
When shorter: Deva BLeaveIn, DevaCurl Foam.
I love it when this thread pops up!
I look forward to meeting both of you and am so glad I can help whenever needed! It's hard to find someone close, I know! That's why I'm going to Florida to see Struttswife on her roadshow!

Any curlies who have seen me, Sarahthewarrior started a review for the salon and myself in the curlsalons area and if anyone else wanted to add a review it would be very helpful to other Michigan curlies for when this thread gets buried again. Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!

And I will say this....I got my haircut the day I found your thread (ironically enough), but next time I will give it a shot (though I feel like I am cheating on my stylist who has been through this emotionally with me, too! LOL).....I just want the experience..that is all.

It took me FOREVER to find the "right" combo. Seriously...nothing EVER seemed to work for me. Once I found someone that I liked to cut it, I still struggled, but not because of the cut...because, I could tell that the shape and the way it fell was what I wanted! The thing was those blasted stinkin' curls were SUCKY.

After experimenting (nearly...oh...2 years now), I THINK I FOUND IT! My hair LOVES it, obviously, because it WORKS with the cut. Granted, I don't know anyone will be 100% happy with their hair...I mean, if I had my way, I would pick Nicole Kidman's hair, thank you...but, hey...genes suck, too.

But I STILL want a Deva experience!

Hi Michigan Curlies,

Just wanted to let you know that I ordered some flour sack towels to use in the salon. I felt bad using paper towels (no matter how great they work!) and since I use flour sack towels at home, it only made sense to be a little greener and bring them into the salon. Unfortunately, we don't sell them yet but who knows....maybe soon!

Hope everyone is well!!!

Marni Marni!!! I am ready for a cut! I can't even get into my own local person until JANUARY (on a Saturday)...so, you can see she is popular, but I STILL want to experience that Deva thing!!!

Hoping you are still at this salon???
