Default Stylist on Oahu

If ANYONE know of a good curly stylist/salon in Hawaii (Oahu), please let me know!

I moved out here 6 months ago and haven't had a cut since March, my hair is looking super scraggly.

Thanks!

Bumping this old thread because I've liked Jason at Sears Ala Moana (ground level). He's got curly hair himself. He really listens as you tell about your particular curly hair and takes his time with the cut.

My sister's friend also talked highly about a hairstylist at Salon Bobby and Guy. Not sure what her name was though.

It sad that curly cutters are so hard to find. I've had only a handful of stylists I've loved and everyone has moved back to the mainland.

Sorry, Lived there recently for 4 years and only had my hair trimed once a year. It was below my knees. I stood and the stylist sat. I wore it in a long braid or wrap as a crown around my head. In the constant breeze it kept my hair out of my eyes and mouth as it was very fine and knotted too easily. Most stylists there should be able to deal with your hair if they are locals (not Japanese) as their hair tends to be thick and curly. Just ask Hawaiian girls who they go to. Check out the smaller malls. The big ones in Honolulu or Wakiki cater more to the tourists and are very expensive.

I lived there over a decade ago but once I found my HG stylist I was soooo happy with my hair! her name has slipped my mind but she owns the salon in the Hilton Waikiki Village and the Aveda concept salon in the Moana Surfrider (at least she did in 1999). I was always happy with my hair when she cut it: she is amazing...I am still looking for a stylist as talented.
