what salons give best hair cuts and consultations in new york city or baltimore city

I always say this but i might cut my hair. i hate the thought of it being any shorter than it is because my hair really doesnt grow. however, recently i have noticed a lot of split ends. im cutting them myself through search and destroys but they are all over the place. anywhere from the very ends of my hair to starting four inches up my hair. im literally in tears right now. i have no clue what the hell to do anymore. ive been natural for a very long time and besides my whole "natural hair is accepting yourself" mantra i dont feel like ive gained much from it - my hair grows so damn slow its ridiculous. i never did the whole big chop thing so i was growing my hair out while the ends broke off...i cant even get into that right now or im going to go nuts.

so i thought i might at least go in for a consultation. do any of you have experience with any great consultations with stylists in any kinky hair friendly (4a) salons in either the baltimore city area, dc, or new york city?

names of stylists would be great too.

if i actually get my hair cut ill probably wear extension braids for the rest of my life but oh well i guess its better than seeing all these split ends.

most likely ill just keep my hair the way it is though. idk.
head full of wild crazy kinks and curls

I've gone to Curlisto in Manhattan and Tameeka was my stylist for a year and a half. Great consultation, great consistent cuts. She specializes in ethnic hair. Loved her work, just couldn't afford her anymore. But I know they have these Psychohairapy (love the name!) seminars once a month I think and you can get a free consult and they tell you about their salon and products, yada yada yada. It's worth a shot.

I would definitely recommend Tameeka McNeil at if you are in the NYC area. Oh, I miss her so...lol :-) I think she has her own website, so check her out...don't cry....go see Tameeka :-)
I agree with drbey2003. I also love Tameeka at Christo Salon in NYC. She's fabulous. By the way, it's confusing, but it's Christo Salon, and the products are Curlisto. (Just in case you decide to go and have trouble getting the address - make sure it's Christo Salon not Curlisto). Supposedly she specializes in very curly (kinky) hair but mine is 3A and she did a great job twice. She's also really nice and listens to what you want. Good luck!
2/c and some 3A.
Protein sensitive but can use occasionally
Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Stylers: Mix Curls in a Bottle into everything for shine. Terrible pj
Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.
Every day is a gift
Hi - if you PM mixedupcurlychick her siggie says she can get you $30 off if you go to Tameeka. Next time I go I'm going to take advantage of that. Worth it - Tameeka's great.
