I had a nightmare haircut and need a new stylist in troy/albany NY area. The ones listed on this site are pretty expensive and I get my hair cut every 4-5 weeks.

The last stylist assaulted my curls with a razor and I have very short hair. If I can't get a recommendation for a stylist, what can I do? It's hard to find photos of short haircuts for curly heads.

I do have one photo of Halle Barry with a modified shag that can work for me. It has shorter hair on top and graduates to longer in back. The problem I'm finding is that stylists want to go with current trends and make everyone have straight hair. For curlies, that means cutting a lot of it off.
