Try castor oil too. It's also anti fungal. And try mixing with tea tree oil which helps to eliminate itching. Tea tree oil is really good. You may also want to detox your scalp with a mud wash....

Adding h2o to Shea butter I never heard of. You'd be better off spritz on the hair with it then sealing with the Shea. I've heard vitamin e is a good preservative.
