For me my hair becomes dry and feels like straw, really rough feeling. Protein is good for hair that's damaged or color treated. My hair is highlighted and I do a protein treatment once in a while...

If I wet my hair I have to use conditioner to detangle the length of it. If I'm not washing it that day and don't want to get it wet, I throw it up in a high ponytail or bun while I'm in the shower.

If I need to wet my hair in between I just massage my scalp with the water and then put conditioner on the length of my hair like from the ears down, detangle and then do my normal routine.
