I have been using Sebatian Stark Naked as my clarifying shampoo and it works great. It gets all of the crap out of my hair, but it leaves my natural oils. It smells really clean too.

My hair is extremely thick and I've found that raking/finger combing the leave-in in while it's soaking wet is best for me. Then I rake in my gel in sections only. Sectioning is definitely the key!
