I think how easily your hair gets overconditioned would be more related to how fine or coarse it is rather than to its porosity. My hair is on the coarse side and never seems to get overconditioned.

Carbomer and xanthan gum aren't waxes, they are gummy powders that become gels when dissolved in water. They are water soluble, really easy to wash out and don't build up.
