I don't know if you already do this or not, but I would highly recommend deep conditioning every time you wash. Even a two minute mask will work wonders over the long term when it comes to moisture...

I normally finger detangle with a hefty amount of rinse out conditioner in my hair. I detangle whenever I deep condition or use conditioner period. So for me, that's about two-three times per week.
