Does anyone get good results from hair steamers? I hear they help dehydrated hair and also with tangles. My hair is so thick and prone to dryness, I could use help with this! It takes me like an hour...

I've tried longaid curl activator- didn't like it. I have also tried plain aloe vera gel a long time ago and it seems to make my hair frizzy and hard.. Maybe I applied it wrong?
