How can your hair be highly porous and protein sensitive. That doesn't make sense to me. Make sure that your hair is not just temporarily protein overloaded.

Yeah I agree, If you are going to wear braids then why cut it at all. Get braids and grow it out. And then gradually even it out each time you take down the braids.
