I'm a UK curlie, the best gel I've found for it is Boots Essentials (same 'brand' as the pink curl creme). Its really watery, and doesn't dry my hair...

To be honest, my dandruff cleared up when I went CG...maybe because the skin was more moisurised, and I massaged the co-wash into my scalp really well which helped remove any flakes that were there.
