'Cones are the only thing that can control my crazy coarse hair and make it feel like real human hair, so I don't buy into 'cones being evil -- especially when coca betaine is enough to remove them!...

For me, yes, coca betaine is enough. I've used sulfate-free low-poos, like Renpure, that have coca betaine and they remove my heavy-duty layers of silicone with no build-up at all!

Yup, cones help a lot with moisture retention for me. They lock out humidity AND dry air, which is nice. They keep my hair moisturized and soft, so I only have to wash once a week :)

I use all 'cones, I actually love how dimethicone makes my hair feel. However, I try not to use products that are almost entirely made of cones, or have them really high on the ingredients list....
