When it's the length it is now, about 30 minutes. When it was longer, it took about 45 minutes to an hour. I hardly ever straighten my hair anymore; I think it looks better curly. :)

It's near the middle of the list, but I generally go with how my hair feels on a daily basis to determine if it needs to be clarified. Usually, once or twice a week is enough to keep buildup away.
