I think saying it "skeeves" you out is a bit offensive and immature. You can just say it's not for you. Also, not everyone needs to shower daily either. It doesn't make everyone smelly and gross.

I use a detangling comb in the shower only. My hair detangles with water and I actually prefer to detangle before conditioner, I use less product that way. I would never comb my hair dry though.
