Does Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut conditioner strip color from hair?

Thanks! I didn't really think it did - going back to using this for sure. Even using a sulfate-free shampoo every time is drying out my scalp. I can do the shampoo sometimes though when I need it.:)

Does Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut conditioner strip color from hair?

For a good while I was using this and didn't make that connection myself, as I liked this as my co-wash(debating getting back onto this again). Has anyone else noticed this? I do color my hair(not...

I'm really old!

"I don't see how 'old' people could do all that, ergo they cannot possibly be old." - Firefox7275

Our culture has a real habit of thinking that older people can't do anything. Meanwhile, there are...

is anyone NOT doing curly girl?

I did it mostly for three and a half years and it did improve matters for awhile. But after a time, my hair did feel weighed down, plus I have mixed waves and curls(2c-3a), and while I have a lot of...

roller jaw clamps

I use the knock-offs of the Scunci ones - the knock-offs were only $2.99 for a 6-pack at Walgreens and they work GREAT for me. What I do is use them to refresh curls. I'll spritz hair with a bit of...

Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut Conditioner getting harder to find locally

In the city itself, we have no Rite-Aid(they pulled out several years ago and Walgreen's took over their stores), and no Walmart. One has to go to the East Bay for Walmart and I almost never get over...

Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut Conditioner getting harder to find locally

here in San Francisco. In fact, lately I haven't seen it all(the last few months.) I hope not to have to order this online as this was formerly available at any drugstore. Does anyone here know if...

Our Gray Journey Diary

I would have liked to see those pix in color too, because black and white photos don't take into account peoples' skin undertones, which does influence how good grey looks on them or not.
That said,...

What's a really good drugstore shampoo that's CG-friendly?

Update - I did try the Shea Moisture Coconut+Hibiscus shampoo. Just OK, not anything great at all for me. However, next to the Shea Moisture Deep Treatment(in the big jar)this was very good, because...

Anyone else who can't refresh with water?

Actually, a plant mister bottle with water in it works well for me, scrunching it in, as I already have residual gel in it(the LA Looks Sports Gel). But if I really need a boost to get another couple...

Products that surprise you

After hearing rave reviews of Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque, and the Curl & Shine Shampoo, I was eager to try these. The shampoo was OK, but the masque was truly terrible on my hair. I could...

I'm really old!

"By the way, it's hard to have curly hair at my age" - mebarb

I'm up there behind curlypearl, at 65. And no, it's NOT harder to have curly hair at this time. Don't let anyone with their "granny...

Looking for new, cheap, no-protein, very moisturizing conditioner for co-washing

@asianrunner - The term "color-safe" means that the product won't strip out color that's been added to the hair. Of course, hair color fades with time anyway, but color-treated hair will fade a LOT...

Looking for new, cheap, no-protein, very moisturizing conditioner for co-washing

Thanks, mooglieboo, but it's really important something also be color-SAFE as well as having no sulfates, silicones or proteins. Not about to give up coloring any time soon, so it's still important....

Looking for new, cheap, no-protein, very moisturizing conditioner for co-washing

Thanks LISA LISA - I'll check those out at Walgreen's. I had bought a new bottle of the Tropical Coconut variety and hadn't opened it. I still have the receipt, so I can exchange it for one of the...

Looking for new, cheap, no-protein, very moisturizing conditioner for co-washing

must be drugstore, or MAYBE natural food store if it's cheap enough - as it's not always easy for me to get to Sally Beauty Supply. Seems like the Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut conditioner I've...

Tell me all about Shea Moisture

You know, it seems like the Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut conditioner is not the same as it was 3 years ago when I first started using it, not as moisturizing a co-wash. Are the other Suave...

LA Looks Nutra Curl anyone?

I did, some months back, hoping it would be as good as the old turquoise-colored Curl Look gel. It wasn't. Not as much hold, and I had to use a lot more of it, plus it dried out my hair. But I have...

Something BAD has happened to my curls!

Oh dear! That WAS drastic, judging from the pix!:( You're wise to utterly lay off hair color for a very long time. All the other suggestions are good, including a cut so you can get some of this...

Tell me all about Shea Moisture

Just like kurlygurly here, I'm going to pass on this line, due to the protein. My hair needs a lot more moisture than protein, even though I do color my hair. The only time I use protein is with...

Tell me all about Shea Moisture

I've seen it at Walgreens, but am not clear about the other products besides the shampoo(Curl and Shine, which is the one I was looking at). Is the milk a conditioner, is the "smoothie" a conditioner...

Still having problems, please help!

"Thin" does not necessarily mean "fine". Thin has more to do with how MUCH hair one has vs. the texture, which can be fine, medium, or coarse. Amount of hair can be referred to as thin,...

Are you embracing or running away from your grey hair?

"there is a big difference between not coloring your hair and not taking care of your appearance!!" - rbb

Are you embracing or running away from your grey hair?

"I would say that 98% of the women I've seen who have chosen to go gray look MUCH better with their natural color than they ever did with the dye."

Maybe where this poster was was the case, but...
