Question Well water- is it always bad for hair?

I'll be moving into a newly-built house that has well water. Wondering how "bad" well water can be for hair?

Is a shower filter and/or water softening system a "must" with well water?

The Biolage version now has salicylic acid in it which made me question trying it. I do remember using the GVP a few years ago and not liking it at all compared to Biloage.

I know the float test isn't the best test for porosity but....
Wouldn't fine hair float regardless of type of porosity? (thinking: because it's lightweight and would float no matter what??)

HE Totally Twisted changed ingredients too when it when from a purple to a gray tube. I think it's just the fragrance that has changed. Thank goodness, because it's a HG product for me.
