Have you tried any form of a PT? I'm wondering if mine could benefit from some sort of mild PT since it's still healing from heat. Also, has anyone tried KCCC and the KC Knot Today leave-in and had...

I had been straightening/curling my hair almost every day for about 3 years. So my biggest issue has been canopy frizz/straightness, and that's probably why it is accepting the protein right now....

I envy people with thick, fine hair. Mine just doesn't behave nor look that way. The individual strands are thick. I may have some mix of medium/coarse, but it is in no way fine.

I would guess porosity, because it can absorb almost any oil, conditioner, whatever without looking greasy. But I'm still so new to this! Thanks for your ideas!

It is very thick, as are the individual strands. Some are very kinky, and others have even described some of them as - for lack of a better word - nappy. My hair is brown, but often times when a...

Do some people with coarse hair respond well to PT's? I use Eco Styler Gel, which contains a "hydrolyzed wheat protein," and have no problems. It helps my curl out some and prevents frizz.

How long did your hair improve for after you went CG?

Hi! I am a 2B with maybe a little 2C, and I have been mod-CG for a little over 2 months. My hair has gotten much softer and the frizz is much better, and the wave has been a little stronger. I was...

Affordable curl cream recommendations?

Right now I use VO2 clarifying conditioner as a co-wash, Tresseme Naturals conditioner, and Eco Styler Gel (all very cheap!). I'm looking to maybe add a curl cream. I am a 2B/2C. Are there any pretty...

It's really cheap. I think I paid $5 or so a huge tub of it at Sally's. Well, I'm a wavy, so sleeping on it doesn't work very well. I haven't even experimented too much; for me, it's easier just to...

I don't think gel is necessarily terrible for your hair. The CG method is largely based off of gel. Since going mod-CG and using gel, my hair has gotten much softer and less frizzy. Have you tried...

DT recommendations for coarse, 2C hair?

I've been modCG for about 2 months now (I still have to shampoo about once a week or so). My hair is a ton softer and a little wavier, and I am enjoying it so far. I've never really experimented a...

Question So, am I understanding protein vs. moisture?

I have 2c hair. It is very thick and also coarse. I have a pretty wavy underlayer and a straighter top layer. I also have just one spot where I get root curl, so this inconsistency limits me a lot....

I started CG on January 15. So far my hair has been softer and a little less frizzy. Just yesterday I noticed that the roots were very waxy. I have been using Suave Naturals, Garnier Fructis Triple...
