Default Questions about going on the CG method

I have started the process of going CG. Washed with a sulfate shampoo and conditioned with a nonsilacone conditioner. My question is, can I still use the KINKY-CURL KNOT TODAY leave in conditioner because it contains behentrimonium methosulfate (it is a sulfate) and I read NO SULFATES and CONES while on the curly girl method.

Behentrimonium methosulfate is not a sulfate in the way you are thinking. I believe it's used as an emulsifier but I may be wrong. It's perfectly CG. KCKT is a staple for a lot of CG people here, including me. So yes you can use it.

The sulfates you want to look out for are in particular sodium laryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, ammonium laryl sulfate, and ammonium laureth sulfate. They are detergents.

YW! Keep in mind there are OTHER sulfates, some of which are detergents too, but those four are the worst.
