Default need for different hair styles while transitioning

I decided i wanted to go natural about a month ago (even though i haven't had a perm in i don't know how long/ earlier this year though). i don't plan on doing a BC. Right now my hair is shoulder lengh and my new growth is 3c but my edges are a lttle frizzy and tightly curled than the rest of my hair. well basicly i need suggestions on hair styles because lately i have been just straightening my hair with a ceramic flat iron and read that thats not the best thing to do for transitioners

Default i really shouldnt be the one giving advice but....

i would recommend trying twistouts with rods on the ends, braidouts with rods, curlynikki's twistncurl, bantu knots um rollersetting if u have the patience....i suck at every one of the above styles but hopefully u can learn there are great videos via YOUTUBE its the best

personally all i do is wear half wigs with my hair braided underneath or straighten/blowdry (which isnt healthy)

Good Luck with your transition Hope I helped

Hey,
I am a transitioner too. Kacie_luvs is right about YouTube having some great tutorials. Just do a search for "Transitioning hairstyles" and you'll get tons of helpful how-to videos!

These styles are ways to help you lay off using the heat on your hair. You don't want to damage it during such a fragile period. Styles I wear often: Bantu knot out, twist and curl, clip in ponytails--wavy ones that blend with the new growth, sew-in extensions--but I make sure to moisturize my hair underneath on a regular basis (you can search YouTube if you don't know how to do these styles). You also might want to do a search on Fotki.com for these styles to get an idea of how they look...

A final recommendation: Visit Maria G's page on curlynikki.com; there is lots of information there to help transitioners!!!

I hope this helps!
