Arrow new person confused about hairtype...

i have defined curls, and i style it straight on the top

sometimes they're wavy.

my hair's APL, when its combed out and pulled at least.

the bottom is really dry and sometimes gets matted, and the ends are dry. and most of the time i only get a few curls and then the rest of my hair is just frizzy lumps.

i use dove intense damage therapy sham&cond.

i could go on and on about my hair.
i was just confused about what type i am so i can know what threads to go to!

thank you so much!

Default hmmm.

Mine is sometimes like this. I think its beause your hair is EXTREMLY dry. Use a daily leave in conditioner and a conditioner to rinse out in the shower. Comb your hair with a wide tooth comb while its wet. I think you are type 3b or 3a. Your curls are loose and not to tight... kinda like mine. I use Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine system and my hair eats it up!!! haha. its cheap and can be found anywhere. good luckers

Hair type is not as important as hair porosity, texture and protein sensitivity.
But if you want to know your hair type badly, we'd have to see your naked hair (product/straightening-free).
Just a sidenote: Many curlies have had a similar curl pattern and after going CG become 3a-ish; I'd recommend checking it out. It doesn't work for everyone, but it has helped many curlies.
To find the article on CG, just go to the thread, Gretchen has so nicely provided for us in the "Newbies, please read!" section.
