Default Transitioners random thoughts

I didn't see one so I decided to get one going

I'm officially 11 months post today. I got braids put in yesterday. I'll leave them in for a couple of months

7 months in...why does my hair seem so dry??? Should I be using products on my natural hair now??

Default Transitioner's Random Thoughts...

I'm 8 months into my transition and it somehow feels as though my hair has stopped growing. I think I am obsessing over it too much.

I am 6 months posts--natural in the back about 2-3 inches in the front.

I am not having a lot of problems...my only problem is I want to wear the all natural curly look. I can't wait until my hair grows out a bit more so I can chop the front. I can't wait to just let my natural hair curl up.

4 months into transitioning and I can't believe how strong and curly my hair is growing. To BC or not to BC? Hmmm, that is the question.

The braids are in. I am using coconut oil on the hair and a spritz on my scalp. I made the spritz from pure rosewater and added some Vit E oil and some Tea tree oil. I purposefully didn't add glycerin bc it leaves this wierd filmy sensation. I'm loving the spritz. My scalp feels so refreshed. I may make another batch using the same ingredients plus an old sulfur mix I have laying around

Default Really!!!

Hi Ladies,

I will reach my 1 year transitioning anniversay in about 2 weeks!! I'm very excited, I'm planning my BC in May which will put me at 18 months.

Well my husband informed me this morning that Black women don't wet their hair everyday. WTH!! This week I've decided to sport a bun (which he hates) this morning I cowashed, and bunned. Yesterday I spritzed my hair with water to pull it back!!

Lord give me strength to hold my peace and not smack him!!

I'm 9 months post relaxer. I'm very pleased with my new growth, and I'm trying to figure out how much longer I want to transition before I BC. I'm still struggling to find out what works on my hair, it's been sooo dry!!! I decided to start co-washing and I added an aloe vera conditioner to see if that will give me better results. My transition styles so far have been flexi rod sets, I love them! I've been thinking about getting braids are a sewn in weave for the winter to give my hair a break.............

I'm 19 weeks post and wondering if my hair is slow growing. I seem to have just 1 - 1 and a half inches of new growth.

Is this about average?

Kacie - what's the blue stuff?
I put shea butter on my wet roots. Its been a miracle for softness and detangling.

So where did you get this recipe? I'm looking for some natural solutions for dry scalp and something to combat my lackluster hair that is dry and no shine.

You have a sulfur mix. Where did you get that from?

I'm really glad I have braids in. I was seriously considering BCing today but it would take forever to take these out so laziness wins
I am trying my hardest to make it to 18 months
I can't BC until I can make a nice sized ponytail/pony puff

I kind of made the recipe up myself. I put in stuff I thought was good for the scalp. I heard rosewater was a good moisturizer so I picked some up from an organic store. I already had vit E oil and tea tree oil so I put a little of those in.

My sulfur mix was an attempt at replicating BT (boundless tresses) which is made up of yellow sulfur, coconut oil, and EVOO. I made mine with just the sulfur and EVOO. I have to put as a disclaimer be careful if you handle/use the sulfur because a lot of people have an adverse reaction to sulfur

ETA for dry scalp you could try "greasing" your scalp with castor oil, coconut oil, or EVOO. For the hair I would suggest deep conditioning at least once a week with a moisture DC

Default Re-learning to take care of my hair

i decided im no longer going to flat iron my hair during my transition(even though its so easy to manage) im going to embrace my curls.

So for the first time in a while i actually missed my curls and decided i was going to challenge myself to no heat for a month (dont judge me we all have to start somewhere)

so far
wash and go=FAIL
braidout=FAIL
rod set=FAIL
ponytail rollerset=im too lazy
sloppy looking wet bun= ugh...it'll do
