How long to see results?
I was just wondering how long it has taken others to see big improvements in their hair after going CG, and also what were they (less frizz, more curl, shine, etc)?
I have been CG for almost 2 weeks now and have seen a bit of improvement in my hair but I am hoping that I will still see much more improvement with time. I've got plenty more time for that, right?

You have plenty of time. Many people don't see a real difference for about 6 weeks. It took me a few months to get my hair to where it is now, but I had a lot of damage.

I'm about 3 wks. out and I'm seeing a little now. It's hard because you see all the beautiful hair pics and want it right now!!
I like looking thru the photo albums some have and looking at what their hair looked like when they started and what it looks like now. It builds my belief that my hair can look that way too some day!

It can and it will!
This was my hair after my first co-wash (3/29/09):
You can see how sad and damaged it was.
This was in June:
It was obviously better, but there was still a good deal of stringy-ness and My curl hadn't really come back yet.
This is what my hair looks now, after being CG for 7 months:
I have a lot more curl now, my hair looks much healthier, and the stringiness is gone.
It feels a bit like pregnancy did to me. lol It seemed to take forever because I was anxious and excited about it, but now, all these months later, I can't believe how fast the time really went by and what a big difference there is.
I had forgotten how bad my hair looked until I saw the first picture a few days ago and I almost couldn't believe it.
Just gentle with and love your hair, even on its bad days, don't worry about the time, and it will get better and better and better.

CurlyMom, I hear ya. I feel like my hair is getting less curly. I'm starting to get impatient. I've been cowashing since late September... I'm using the 365 Whole Foods conditioner so I'm thinking of switching to a Suave to see if it makes a difference since it might be a little lighter.

Yea, kayaelle, that sounds like a good idea. Do you know the porosity and texture of your hair? I have find/med texture hair and normal porosity.
Maybe find some people on the boards who have hair like yours and see what they are doing. I know it has really helped me. I kind of "stalk" those people and see what they are doing. Sounds kind of weird, but I think a lot of us newbies do!
I can say that my hair is really starting to calm down and curl again. I've really cut back on product I've put in my hair because I was noticing a lot of build up and there really wasn't any volume in my hair.
As soon as I did that my curls started to perk up. Maybe the products your using are too heavy for your hair type...??
Just keep at it and keep tweeking your products and routine. From what I can tell it seems that you really have to experiment with your hair to see what it likes/doesn't like and it's a lot of trial and error, but I really think it's worth it in the end!

My first week or two into it, I noticed more curl but my hair was very frizzy. I also had a lot of dandruff, but a sugar scrub got rid of that very quickly.
My hair has gotten curlier and curlier, and even now, 3 months into it, my hair is still getting a little curlier every day. At first my hair was stringy curls, but now it creates a lot chunkier curls which I like.
AND, for the first time, I was complimented on how shiny and healthy my hair is from a hair stylist! That was definitely worth the transition period
