Question Moving to MO come fall

I've looked at the Salon Finder & see numerous stylists in St Louis & I'm overwhelmed!

Which one is closest to IL side, the easiest one to get to for someone new to the area, the cheapest for someone who doesn't yet have a job?

Default just moved FROM St. Louis

I just moved out of St. Louis. The two places I've been to that I really like are V Vegaz on The Loop and Salon Basia in Richmond Heights. Both are $40 or more, V Vegaz is pricier.

I like VVegas but it is not so close to Illinois if you are worried about travel time and finding it if you are new to the area. The cost is pricey too. I had Brandie (the owner) cut my hair, bought some Low Poo, and got my eyebrows waxed and I know I paid about $100 for it all. So I would think that the haircut alone was about $65. VVegas is in the UCity loop so it is kind of punk-ish so if that isn't your thing, you may look elsewhere for a cut.

I also have been to Oliver's Studio http://www.oliversstudio.com/ which is just south of downtown in Lafayette Square and is maybe a little cheaper if you don't have Natalie (owner) cut your hair. I have had her and Katie cut my hair and they both did a great job although Natalie spent more time showing me how to use products and style my hair. I think I spent about $50 on the cut when I had Katie cut my hair and probably about $60 or $65 for Natalie. I don't exactly remember the prices because I usually only get my hair cut twice a year so it isn't like I'm paying it out all the time. I'm due for a cut now and I will probably go to Oliver's Studio because it is close to my friend's house and we usually meet up after I get my hair done.

There is also a much cheaper option in Fairview Heights (just a quick few miles from Belleville). Not a Deva cut but she is an awesome hairstylist and it is cheap. Erin at Garden Salon and Spa. I haven't been to her in a couple of years since we moved but she is great. She has a copy of the Curly Girl book and cuts hair dry. She is not Deva trained (at least she wasn't when I saw her) but she understands the concepts behind it and is a curly girl although she had it short and straight last time I saw her. I think she used to charge me about $15 - $20 to get my haircut although I didn't have her style it at all usually because I would go right home and do it myself.

If you have any more questions, let me know. These are the only people who have cut my hair and I didn't come home crying. Well I did cry a little bit when Natalie cut my hair as it was my first Deva cut and she took quite a bit off because my hair was very long and needed it but I wasn't prepared for it.

Default I live near St. Louis

I was thinking of trying this place.

I am always scared to get my hair cut because it's curly and well I am sure all of you know what that means...
I have never had a curly girl cut and I found this place on this site. Has anyone been here?

I saw the oliver studio site also but notice that the girls had straight hair in the pictures so that is why I was looking at the other place.

I'm going to look her up. I'll try to get an appointment for the same day I have a lasik follow up in Creve Coeur. Right now, cheaper is better.

I went to Frontenac Salon and Spa (the website you referred to above) in Sept and I really liked it. I will be going back again for a trim probably in Dec or Jan. I went to Jamie and she was very nice and did a great dry cut and style. She is Deva trained. Cuts run around $40 and if you are a 1st time client on a Tuesday it's 1/2 off your 1st cut. I took advantage of that special. I've been jumping around to various places, tried Oliver's Studio, V Vegaz, Bouffant Daddy but I think I'm going to stick to Jamie. She was very down to earth and knows her curly stuff. They do only carry Deva products there but she did not push any products on me. Good luck!

I called & Jamie doesn't have the 50% off special for 1st time customers anymore. It's now 15% off color. I can't handle the cost at the present.
