Default Donna Marie Honey & Aloe Curling Jelly - REVIEW FOR WAVIES

Well, I got mine, and today was day 2 of using it. Here's my feedback.

A tiny amount goes a long way, though you don't think you've got enough product when you are distributing it. A dime size is enough for my fine hair.

I put it in when my hair is wet, then use my curls like us towel, then diffuse. It dries fairly quickly - faster than FOTE aloe by itself.

It has a hard crunch to it until you scrunch it out. It does scrunch out without frizzing, though. And, it makes my waves more like 3a than 2a

I would say that if you like the curl that you get from FOTE but wish you didn't frizz with aloe and that you could keep your curl all day, then this is a good product to try.

Also, if you like Pink Boots, this is a good alternative that can be bought here... And I would say that I get more curl with the Donna Marie than I do with Boots, but more crunch to scrunch. I can almost get away without scrunching Boots mixed with FOTE aloe.

diffuse
air dry
scrunch out the crunch

I'm so glad you specified for WAVIES. We need more directed towards us!

I definitely agree this stuff ROCKS and I LOVE IT. I've not had the best success with BOOTS or KCCC consistently. DMHJ I get consistent results but this is made for wavy hair unlike a lot of other products that are for curls. I've not experimented beyond putting BRHG on top but another wavy mentioned she put MOUSSE on top and has had great hair days!! I use about a Dime size in my hair, I'm amazed you used that much on your fine hair!

HUGE for DMHJ!!!

I am going to order some of this product.
I am a straight (on top) - wavy (bottom half). I'm hoping it will encourage the natural waves I get when my hair is wet. When I have been swimming and my hair is soaking I love my hair.

Hi all,
What is the consistency of this stuff & how does it feel in your hair? (I'm trying to avoid overly sticky products like Re:Coil, which is why I'm asking).
Thanks!!

Like: CJSG, CJCCCC
Haven't given up on yet: DMHJ, JCCC (what's the point if I have to use gel anyway over RR?), Re:Coil
Given up on: HESMU, Matrix Biolage Gelee (both too goopy)

DMHJ has been discontinued she's coming out with a replacement product. It was supposed to be in May but we're near the end of May so who knows when....

Just FYI - I emailed Ayanna this AM about when her new product, MiraCurl Curling Gelee, would be available...

She replied that it will be available the first week in July. HTH

I have fine wavy hair, and just ordered this over the web. A couple of questions. Do you scrunch it into dripping wet hair (like ck), or towel dried hair, or lightly scrunched hair (wet, but not quite towel dried)? Also, do you put anything over it, or is this a de-frizzer and curl holder all in one? I thought I read that someone puts mousse over it. Is this what most people do (put mousse or gel on top)? Or are most people using it alone? Thanks.

Try it both ways. There is no hold so you will need something over it for hold. I have never been able to get it to work for me.

I put a puddle in my palm (quarter size) then run my hands over the lngth of my dripping wet hair, as if gathering it to make a ponytail. I got better results like this then when I scrunched it, and I never tried raking it in.

Hi ladies,

Why oh why did she discontinue this product??? I just recently discovered it thru a swap at a NC meet up. It has given me my best wash n go to date. I think my hair likes products geared to more wavy hair than curly. Now I'll need to search to see if any of the origninal formula of this product is available somewhere on the web for me to buy.
